Goodreads Giveaway and Other Updates
For those of you who want a copy of Compendium a good FOUR WEEKS before it will be available to the general public, I am giving away TWENTY advance paperback copies of Compendium signed by me. Starting on February 25, 2015, you can click the button below or visit Goodreads to enter to win. I am keeping the giveaway open for over a month, so you have until March 29, 2015 to enter to win. Twenty individuals will be randomly selected by Goodreads to receive a copy, so enter, and maybe you will be one of the lucky ones!
This offer is available to residents of the United States, Canada, and Great Britain.
On the heavily forested planet of Lumin, the Network has slept, dormant, for over six hundred cycles. Only a select few remember that it resides beneath the crust of the planet, waiting, and for those who remember, the battle for Lumin’s future has raged in the shadows.
When Mia Jayne’s path crosses with a mysterious volume in the Archives of the Order of Vis Firmitas, this ancient battle moves from the shadows into the light. Compendium opens up a world of knowledge, and, for the first time since arriving at the Order, Mia has the key to reclaim the freedom she has lost. To do so, she must choose between her conscience and her heart. Conceived against an ailing world of fantastical beauty where long-lost technology tips the balance between extinction and survival, Mia must remember that there is always a choice, and that makes all the difference.
News for the Week of February 9 – 13
Copy Edit: As of February 10, 2015, Compendium is being copy edited by editor Angela Brown, who has edited 400 published books over a 17 year period. This edit puts me right on schedule to be able to fulfill my Goodreads giveaway commitment, get the book into the hands of advanced reviewers and generally be ready for release. I am very excited to be working with Angela, and I am sure that she will help me get Compendium polished up and ready for mass consumption. That hasn’t stopped be me from being nervous, but I look forward to sharing excerpts of the final release version of Compendium on this site very shortly. I will also publish a sample on Goodreads in ebook format for those who would rather read the first couple chapters on their devices.
Art: Day has been hard at work on maps of Lumin, both in 3D and flat. I look forward to posting the flat map online once it is available, and hopefully being able to include a small drawing of it in the final book. The 3D map will become the base for the book trailer in production.
Hardcover: I have had some questions about whether a hardcover version of Compendium will be available. Unfortunately, at this time, it is prohibitively expensive for us to produce a hardcover version of the book. I am leaving the door open for a special limited edition run of hardcover books in the future if demand warrants it. In fact, Day has already started on limited edition cover art for a hardcover version of the entire series, which will remain under wraps until such time as it becomes economically feasible to produce. So, if you really want a hardcover version, help me get Compendium noticed by the masses!
That is all for this week. I will try to post weekly updates if the amount of news warrants it. I will also repost about the Goodreads giveaway as it gets closer to the 25th.
