So, again… not Japan-related, but I have been spending a lot of time on freerice.com. If you have never been there, I suggest you check it out. It is a web site that lets you answer vocabulary questions, and for every one you get correct, it will donate 10 grains of rice to starving people through the United Nations. The vocabulary starts out easy, and as you get more and more correct, gets harder and harder. Each word has a vocabulary level, topping out at 50. I managed to get up to 47, although, I will usually quickly end up back down at 43 or 44. It’s pretty cool though. And I’ve gotten a lot of rice donated to hungry folks. :P

This is also completely off-topic, but I love Vosges Haut Chocolate. This is a chocolate company that makes really exotic combinations of flavors and add them to different chocolates. My favorite is the Naga bar, which has curry powder and coconut in it. I also like the Red Fire bar, which has chipotle and cinnamon. I’ve also had an array of truffles, bon bons, and caramels over the last year. Pretty much nothing they make tastes bad. Most of it is really excellent, although I probably wouldn’t buy the Macha bar again. The green tea in it just makes the chocolate taste grassy. :) Anyway, I love this stuff, but it is ridiculously expensive, so I probably won’t be eating it often until I’m working again (though I do splurge on Naga bars at Whole Foods once in a while).
